Community impact through football and social welfare

Smurfs Foundation

The Smurfs Foundation was established in 2019 as the social impact arm of Smurfs Football Academy. From the beginning, the foundation has operated on a simple principle: football is a vehicle for positive community change, and access to sport should not depend on economic circumstance.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the foundation mounted a major relief effort. Over the course of multiple campaigns, approximately 5,000 ration packages were distributed to families in need across Islamabad and surrounding areas. The initiative reached over 50,000 individuals and demonstrated the organizational capacity of the Smurfs FC community.

Annual Ramadan campaigns have become a cornerstone of foundation activity. Each year, the foundation coordinates food distribution drives, community iftars, and charitable giving programmes during the holy month. These efforts bring together academy families, sponsors, and volunteers in service to the wider community.

The foundation administers football scholarships for talented players who cannot afford academy fees. Scholarship recipients receive full access to training programmes, kit, and competitive opportunities. Several current Smurfs Elite players entered the academy through foundation scholarships, proving that talent recognition should have no financial barrier.

Equipment donation programmes ensure that youth football infrastructure reaches underserved communities. The foundation distributes footballs, training bibs, cones, and goal equipment to schools and community centres that lack basic sporting resources. These donations seed football culture in areas where organized sport has historically been inaccessible.
